What do three comedians who were raised by circus performers have in common? They meet once a week to make funny, work on comedy material, juggle some balls, and talk about their latest shows. Lauren Kirshner, Jay Hewlett, and Chris Spinelli met at a circus performer anonymous meeting and decided to continue to meet on their own. After all, who knows more about sword swallowing (Chris), bearded ladies (Lauren) and juggling balls (jay), then these three funny people who have made people laugh at comedy clubs, colleges, and under the Big Top for years. Meeting at their favorite neighborhood Denny’s they continue to work on funny stuff, shoot the shite, and tell some jokes. Now you can join them on Facebook Live and take a look at the creative process, catch up on the latest comedy gossip, and meet some special guests too. If you’re interested in booking these funny folks for your comedy club, birthday party, or Bar Mitzvah drop us a note at info@comediansatdennys.com. In the meantime, tune in every Wednesday night at 8:30p.m. PST on FB Live and have some yuks on us. Who knows you might come away with an urge to swallow a sword, while juggling your balls, and shaving your beard. Comedians At Danny’s coming to a three ring circus near you!
Comedians at Denny’s started as a group of comedians (us) who had known each other in a comedy workshop for several years. When we all outgrew that and went our separate ways we decided to meet twice a month at Denny’s to continue our own “workshop” and help each other with our writing and punching up material. All of a sudden a new trend, Facebook Live, became a thing and just for giggles we experimented with it while waiting for our food one night. Low and behold we had a bunch of people tuning in and thought, hey, there could be something to this. So we incorporated it into our writing sessions and developed it into our own “show”. We eventually started having well known comedians as guests. We started promoting it with little movie trailers and effects as well as other social media platforms. We plan to grow this in the future by taking it on the road and building our online presence. We have built a regular audience now and have a huge (well, mildly loyal) fan base.
